Maybe because when I actually see one. It's when I'm not running helter-skelter ,worrying or stressed out.
It's when I've some time to me. And I've the time to stare. Watch the day end. Not regretting anything. Not having the fear of losing time. Not feeling helpless of not correcting the wrong that I've done.

It's when I can afford the sun to go down without being all crazy about losing a day.

And finally the camp is over. A week long, which seemed an eternity at times.
I did a lot of things i never imagined i would do. Never thought i could do.

1.Woke up at 6 for seven continuous days.
2.Took a bath without warm water.
3.No mirrors.
4.Washed my own clothes and dishes.
5.Cooked food.
6.Pitched a tent.
7.Played the guitar and sang in front of around 75 people.
8.Sweeped floors.
9.Climbed a hill.
10.Experienced a campfire.
11.Danced.
12.Meditated.
13.No packaged/junk food.
14.No afternoon naps.
15. No network on phone for 4 of the 7 days.
16.No Facebook
17. No television
18. Almost ate chicken!
19. Cut firewood.
20. Played football.
21. Drank insane amount of chai!

Everybody likes nice things.
And nice things are expensive.
That's where money comes in.

So when one of my friends asked me to work for a promotional ad event for money. I was game!
So we were three people.
Me and two other people who's identities I withhold to protect them. :-P

So we were just supposed to play surprised contestants who win stuff. Yes, Everything is rigged. Like the teleshopping people who undergo life-changing experiences when they buy an inflatable sofa or a sauna slim belt or height increasing shoe soles. :-\
It's like when you're little and you get to know Santa Claus is fake and you're deeply traumatised ,too oblivious to know that the world has more to offer.

We really thought the money is good as compared to what we were supposed to do.Plus you get to hang out in a mall. Plus a few perks that the company pays for.
And I thought I'm gonna earn some money really easy. Maybe buy some shoes I wanted.
And then reality struck.Nobody is stupid enough to give away money.If they're paying they will exploit you. Malls suck. The few perks were literally very 'few'. And Idk when I'll get the money. :-(

And in the end.
It wasn't worth it.
It was too fake for me to take.
They even told me I wasn't fake enough.
Which I'm not apologetic for. ^_^

But it did teach me the value of money.
That's it from 2011.
More life lessons next year.

It's rainy heavily.

With overflowing gutters.

The road looks like a flowing river.

And everything from apples and coconuts to plastic wrappers float on it.

We finally reach there.

Municipal Davakhana.Sakinaka.

It doesn't even look like a part of Mumbai.

Where one pair of chappals is just enough.

Where the electric connections remind you of Delhi.

Where they STILL use public phones.

Where amongst all the filth, you can still find the purity of white.

Where colours look alive.

Where smiles are still innocent.

And I don't know if the Malaria Awareness Rally helped them.

But it sure helped me get one step closer to reality.

I just realised I own an extremely hideous red shirt.
It's too long, is striped along the neck and the bottom, has three buttons on the left side of the neck. :-\
I don't really pay attention to my clothes.
But,I really have no reason as to why i bought it.
Things just look better in the mall, I guess.
Or sometimes, you just can't find it.
When you do, it's the wrong colour, or the wrong cut, or the wrong size.
Or other some miniscule detail that constantly bothers you.
And then you realise you just haven't found anything!
But everybody else has!
And you need a shirt too, you know?
So you get desperate.
And at that time even that hideous red shirt looks like the best thing on the planet.
And you buy it. :-\

Pain is a very important feeling.
It makes you appreciate your seemingly imperfect life.
It shows you,it could've been worse.
It could've been like this, all the time.

And sometimes pain is actually a process of saving getting yourself into bigger trouble.
Without which, you wouldn't know where to stop.
Sometimes I need it.
It helps me sleep.
When I absolutely cannot do anything else, not even think straight.
That's when I surrender to my body and sleep.

In that cadaverous slumber, the pain slowly fades away.
Almost as if regenerating me.
Bringing me back to life.
A new one.

And isn't it what makes us feel alive?

This is my last week of vacations.
These 35 days, were eventful.

I...

Had a haircut

Read two-thirds of Lance Armstrong's autoiography.

Ate at a fancy four star hotel in south bombay for a friend's "treat".

Called and spoke to complete stranger over the phone and cancelled someone else's football match.

Was the only to be excited to ride the ferry, and when i was actually on it,was the only one who felt sea-sick.

Met a friend I thought I'd never meet.

Accidentally played cupid for two friends.

Discovered a lot can surely happen over coffee.

Watched HIMYM incessantly.

Got hooked to The Doors.

Shopped.

Slept. A lot.

Drove.

Lost track of time, of days and dates.

But now college starts, 9 to 5.
I won't have the luxury, to sleep till noon cuz I was talking to my cat till 3.
It's gonna restrict me.
And my weekends are gonna suck :-(

But I didn't think of all this a couple of weeks ago.

At that time, I missed everyone a lot, so I wished for college to start.

Now, not so much. :-\

Not the crying-in-the movies crying, one tear drop, which you wipe before it grazes your cheek..like really crying...

I have once.

It was in school.

When my then-guy-best-friend was dating one of my friends.

Okay. It's not what you think.I wasn't in love with him or anything.It was just, change of priorities. I wasn't his numero uno anymore.And I'll be frank, I didn't like it that way.

He didn't do any of it on purpose, he was just blindly in love.

So I was sitting with a friend.

It was a winter evening.Really dark.

And we were talking about them.

And I just lost it.I broke down.

I really cried.

Like a lot.

So much that I ran out of tears. Then there was just a lot of complaining.

And instead of regretting what I cried for.

I regret whom I cried in front of.

I've heard crying is liberating your soul.

But I just think it puts you in a very vulnerable situation.

That people can take advantage of.

And they will.

And I've never cried ever since.

In public atleast.

I can boast of that.

But history repeats.

And I've a feeling the same situation is gonna come back again.

But I won't cry this time.

Cuz it doesn't help.

PS: I had a new haircut.

I think I look like Dora the explorer! :D

I recently caught a show of *drum roll* KUNG FU PANDA 2 IN 3D!!!
Yeah fine, maybe it's not THAT awesome cuz it's been released for a while, but I had stupid exams, so let me bask in the glory now. :D

3D glasses make me look like B-)<---- that!

I basically LOVE Po.
Like seriously,just when I thought he couldn't get any cuter they made his baby-version.
OMG OMG OMG!!!!!! how cute is thattt!!!

Okay apart from that, this movie really inspired me...

Kung fu panda 1 gave us, "the secret ingredient is nothing" and the sequel gives us "inner peace".

It's SO true!
Everything that we do.
Is in turn related to being at peace with ourselves.
And sometimes it's tough, really, and it seems impossible.
But you have to get it out of your system, do whatever works for you.
But you have to let it go.
And empower yourself with inner peace.

(And then also you might do that cool raindrop thing! B-))

Long time no see
Just cuz I didn't have anything to talk about.
I still don't, but what the heck.

I HATE MONEY.
I'm just going crazy over managing my money these days, just seems to disappear.
I have enough of it at the beginning of every month, and I intend to save it, I really do.And then gradually,and unknowingly, I'm just losing all of it.
Sure I try save, I walk to college sometimes, instead taking the rick, saves me 11 bucks.
Then I have my CCD trips.They know caffeine is addictive, they get you hooked and drink all your money ! X-(
And everytime I walk out, I swear it's a waste of money and never to go back in there, and...well I said it's addictive!

I HATE SUBMISSIONS.
It's that time of the year again.The teachers are getting back at you for everything.You're standing in line, you're hungry and sleepy, you wait wait wait!! and then when it's your turn, you've a whole lot of corrections, so now you've to go back in line, without food, sleep-deprived, wait wait wait! (I say wait wait wait, thrice, yes, it's THAT much of waiting!) You lose things!! Erasers, pencils, and sometimes, assignments. Yes. Assignments. Which are due. :-\

I HATE BEING BORED.
It is my default feeling, I think.I'm just bored of doing things I'm made to do.
Which i have no interest in doing.There's just so many! I don't like cleaning my room. I like to search for my jeans the whole week to find it under the bed so please don't ask me to clean!

I HATE REALITY SHOWS
Ironically, that's all I watch. I watch parts of Mtv, V and Vh1. They aren't music channels anymore. It's amazing how many shows have waxing involved in tasks!!

And I hear my name. My ears get hot and red, my hands feel numb, and my brain feels flushed.
I get to the centre of the class..
"This is a budget related editorial...uh...it mainly talks about the..uh... fiscal deficit.Now....uh...fiscal deficit is when the revenue collected by the government is....uh..... insufficient for the actual money needed for the population..."
A signals me to maintain eye contact...
S is nodding...
And suddenly I notice...Everybody's looking at me, because I've stopped talking.
And I stare at the ceiling...and nothing is in my head, and I don't know what to do.
I know I'm not talking, I know I should start talking, and I know what to talk about, but I can't talk.
"What's wrong? Maybe you can read something from that paper you have there?" she says gesturing at the crumpled full-scape sheet of paper, which I've folded several times.
I snap out of my trance, my hands shiver...I fumble for words....
"...and so if it's undisclosed to the customs....it affects the government...because...uh....uhh.....uh....*pause*...*blank*...."
I hear people whispering...
A and N look at me..."S-A-Y S-O-M-E-T-H-I-N-G" i manage to lip read...
"..uh..because...it's not...uh...disclosed to the ...uh...customs.Thank you."
It's done...I get a sympathetic applause.
I get consolation.
I respect that.
And I look back and recollect what i said without the "..uh..." and amidst the long pauses.
I meant, it affects the government because it is an infraction, and it costs the state.
But i never said that.
And my ears aren't red anymore, my hands aren't numb.
And it's over.

Cheesecake?? Strawberry or Blueberry?
Choices are an inevitable part of life.
And we never know which one to choose.If i choose blueberry and don't like it.. what's the point? I'm left with an option I never utilised. There is a possibility of liking it but an equal probablity of not liking it too..

So what is the point of this post?
Well, we are gonna have many choices, the flavour of cheesecake to be chosen seems really trivial.But even if you make a right choice now, chances are you are gonna fumble once in a while.
Because life is a culmination of infite number of variables, it's indeterminate, it's just impossible to solve or to determine how everything is gonna turn out,
It's like you're basically gonna end up with equal number of good choices and bad ones too..
So don't be afraid to make mistakes..
Play your cards and hope it turns out fine...

Face your fears OR DON'T!!

Face your fears.Never really works for me!
Whenever you have something that scares you,you have two choices.
The bold and morally correct one - Face it.
The one which I usually prefer - Avoid it!

I still remember sitting in the dentist's office, he explaining my mother how my molars need to be filled, but i was fortunate to not have a root canal!
So since that day, i developed a very common Dentophobia (yes, fear of dentists!)
and since then, i make it a point to rinse my mouth,gargle,brush,floss etc..
Not because I want to face my fear,but because i want to desperately avoid it!

Also it's much better with people that scare you...rather than going ahead and making small talk with awkward long silences, it's better to just not bump into them!! :-P
But ofcourse it's better to talk things out :-)

So maybe we don't have to face all our fears...
Maybe we are supposed to be scared of something..
And maybe it is a good thing to be afraid....
That's what makes us human with tiny little imperfections. :-)

The 22nd of june is etched in our memories. "Sister day" we call it :-)
So we started at 5pm :D..running for the fast train! :D
Pooja had "planned" stuff out..what she loves the most...
first stop was McDonalds...to gain energy :-P

Then we walked the whole of colaba causeway checking out stuff...occassionally deciding to buy some of it...but then chucking the idea...only Purva eventually ended up buying some kurtis :-)

But the real reason for walking all the way was "Mad over donuts" at the other end! :D
So we hogged on donuts with REALLY fancy names...mine was called "nuts on donuts" n everyone said..."hey give me one bite, nuts" :-/ i'm not nuts my donut is !
But i really envied Pooja's n Kate's...they were chocolate filled!! which technically doesnt make them a donut :-P

then we went to marine drive :-D!
and it started raining...
And everything looked so damn beautiful :-)

And we walked a lot...A LOT...from Nariman Point...to Girgaum Chowpatty :-)

And on the way..Purva and I went crazy like we were drunk or something...or as she says high on chocolate ;-)
We jumped in the puddles...danced in the rain..laughed at couples :-P...sang songs on the top of our screeching voices{avril lavigne-complicated to be specific ;-)}..we were careless...it felt exuberant...it felt awesome the way rains had never felt before...the way Pooja and Kate's company had never felt before...
They weren't controlling us...forbidding us...they were with us..having fun,singing,being crazy :-)

Eventually i slept in the bus.... :-P
But the day was sooooo awesome!!!!!!!! :-)!

Botany lecture.

Mr J. looks tired and says “I guess that’s it for today!!”

Everyone is pleasantly surprised.

With HSC exams being fairly ‘decent’ and struggling with CET I feel sloshed.

I ask D.”Bus se aa na aaj” to support my buses-are-better-than-trains ideology.

She agrees *yay!*

One condition.

I’d have to wait till her bus shows up..

Er…her bus has a frequency of once in 15mins..

After waiting for about 10mins we spot her bus….but hey? we are waiting at the wrong stop?!!
and there we go….running behind that bus….fortunately it halts at the signal…we board in… *phew*

“But where is this bus going?” I ask D as the bus takes the opposite turn….

D says “oh shit?! Lets get down!”

So we get down at the next stop….i’m laughing like hell..

D spots her bus..in the opposite direction!

“My bus!!!!”

I say “hehe you don’t want me to run do y….??”

Before I finish that sentence I’m already running behind her…

Finally we board it :-)!!….i must thank traffic for this :-P

I just can't tolerate anything for more than 20minutes...only i know how i attend lectures and all!

I don't know...my mind just wanders away...

So there was a boring Integration lecture i was attending...my friend sitting next to me asks...

'Hey, what's the time?"

I check my watch....exactly 3:14..

I tell her..."Pi!"

Friend: :-s!! arree!! time...time!? *tapping her wrist*

Me: arre that's what i said...pi...bwhahahahaha !! *i go crazy laughing*

Friend: :-s!!:-s!! ?!?!?!?

Me: Arre! 3:14 !
Friend: Oh...okay... *after 2 mins*.. OHHH!! OKAAYY!! HEHE!!

Me: *phew!*

I had anticipated this post...right when she had been diagnosed with diabetes alongwith jaundice.[call me cynical].I knew it would be extremely diffcult for her fragile body to respond to treatment and get well. It's been 9 days now...since she passed away...n i'll be frank...for the initial days i did think that it was better this way,she atleast didn't go through much pain,but who was i kidding....

It's a weird feeling....when someone you met everyday suddenly vanishes away.....
For a first few days i was okay but now i am getting impatient and i miss Michelle dearly..

I miss her when i come home and i don't find her on the sofa...or sun-bathing in the balcony..

I miss her everytime i make maggi which she relished!..

I miss her when she isn't around to hop on my bed and tuck her nose under my palm...

I miss her when there is no one to play around with my hand when i'm studying..

I miss her when she isn't there to rip my jeans asking for food...

I miss her when i don't have to wake up at six too feed her....

I miss her when no one sleeps on my spread out homework sheets...

I miss her :-(

I regret ignoring her...i did that a lot of times....because she was there...and i took her for granted...I assumed that she'll alway be there...
I regret not taking care of her as well as i could...
I regret not holding her for the last time ever...

But now she's finally in a place she deserves to be in - Heaven.

"Please, place your chin properly on the stand.I promise it won't hurt", the tired assistant explains to me. "I am not scared !",I say as i put my chin closer to the absurdly huge machine.My words unknowningly assert my denial.I try to seem brave.She smiles like she can see through me. *click*..*click*...*click*.I hear three mouse clicks. "Okay, now come to the next room"....

2 weeks ago....i had cold....the doctor tried paracetamol but since it didn't work...he tried sleep inducing anitbiotics.After a few days of using them my head pained a lot until I popped a Cetirizine.I thought these were normal side effects which would disappear with my cold.But long after the cold was cured the head pain continues.

As usual I panic...I tell everyone about it.My Dad looks at me with a straight countenance and says..."I got these specs in seventh grade...your sister got hers in seventh too...perhaps you're next...."
I nod...ignoring him like always.....something about seventh grade....i've already passed that!
A few seconds rewind in my head n i go "WHAT?!!?"
"You mean you think i have myopia?"
"Possible." he says.
"No !" i say...."I'd look like a geek with spectacles on ! My friends would tease me Dad!"
"Well atleast you'll see them clearly haha!"..very funny.. :-|
I am petrified for the rest of the day...
I message Tripthi B,Neha and Asmita..
Tripthi replies..."you'll look smart in specs!"
Asmita says..."i don't think u have them"
And Neha well versed of my omg-i-dunno-what-to-do paranoid behaviour chooses not to reply to such lame messages....

She hands me the optometric glasses.Scrolls the list up to the biggest font...

"Can you read?" she asks...*lame*!

She scrolls..."Now?"

"Okay...you see properly? Clear?",she asks.

Crystal!"Yea...", I say.

Same test with the other eye...
The opthalmologist finally arrives.
The assistant gives him the test results.
He scans my eyes with another weird machine.
Asks me if i had cold...

"Yea.."

"It was probably that...your vision is fine."

*yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee*

So...there's nothing on my eyes man :-D!

I get up at 6....my head feels heavy like i havent slept at all....i guess it's because of low blood pressure we usually have in the morning....[something i learnt in biology class!].Well so i get up and get ready...set for attending a 3 hr lecture [what a pain!]...on my way...i get flashes of a dream i just had......

I was on a terrace with an elderly woman.....no one around...just the two of us....it's evening time....the sun is setting.It's dark enough for stars to be visible.We are looking at them.Suddenly there is a loud explosion in the sky....and something is approaching us.It's a huge fireball and it gets closer and bigger with every passing second.I have no clue what to do......but i think the size of this meteor is enough to blow up half the earth.....

The rest of the dream is damn hilarious and is something i don't exactly remember it was about Channing Tatum coming to rescue me and Kate,my sister?! who wasn't actually even there.But i guess that's just because i had seen a GI joe poster of him in an army uniform?!!?

I tell this to Neha,my classmate, who laughs her head off...and asks me why i get weird dreams all the time?Like the one i got about Kunal kapoor rock climbing at Dadar TT and me yelling ut his name from my bus !! But this one turns out to be the weirdest...i come back home to log on fb...my homepage is google...it customized to a 'meteor shower' background.Adrenaline makes my heart pump faster.I click on it.It says "

I freeze !! i quickly msg Neha who is equally astonished!
So is the large meteor going to slice half the earth tonight?!

Michelle senses something amiss when Soft-paws enters the kitchen.He jumps to her with joy like any normal baby would but she growls him away.Though both the cats share a co-incidental similar apperance Michelle can barely stand him.

It all started 2 days ago, a cute baby tomcat on the street caught my eye.Being a feline fanatic, i wanted to get him home ! Mom instructs me 'No more cats', Michelle is enough of a nuisance.Nonetheless, I sneak away downstairs ! I jump with joy as i pick him up.The twinkle in his innocent eyes completely oblivious of the world around, makes him special.His soft fur tickles my palm. Purva starts clicking pictures,"He is so cute !!" she says",we should name him something." "Soft-paws?",i suggest.Purva nods in agreement. I have inherited my feline mania from my father.So when he spotted Softpaws , nobody could stop him from getting the tom home.During his stay, Michelle's behaviour drastically changed.She growled all the time,ate less, and mostly preferred hiding somewhere as soft-paws was flourished with attention.We thought she might take sometime to adjust but 2 days pass with no noticeable change.

I feel stuck.I want them both to stay but that clearly is impossible.But Michelle will always be my first priority.So i muster up my courage as Softpaws eats his last meal in my house before he is on his own again.

We come to the place where i picked him from, he springs from my arms.To my surprise , i sense a kind of joy in the way he's walking away.It feels like he's emancipated and he looks happy ! He looks at me with his shining eyes as if thanking me to end the miseries of both the cats.

I look at him from my balcony and he seems relieved and so am i. He is gone now,however, there is something about him that would make me remember him forever. :-)

THE LOOPHOLE

Sometimes we are totally trapped and think that we can't get out of the mess . ' The Loophole ' is about those times :-)......

The sun seems to me like a warrior ,
Who emerges leaving dark clouds behind ,
He gleams with pride and brilliantly shines ,
He feels good , he feels divine .

He spreads his joys , by giving life ,
To all who dwell and breathe under his light ,
He makes us happy and satisfied ,
Until we face the night .

The night is the time when he surrenders ,
And the dark clouds overcome him ,
But in the darkness too the moonlight shines ,
Though it is dim .

Once again the sky brightens ,
Once again we have a new day ,
The sun emits it's brightest rays ,
To keep darkness away .

We know that life is just like that ,
With brightness and darkness too ,
But at hard times there is always ,
A loophole to get us through .

Every day I get up and think,
This is again a day I have to pretend,
Talk what I don't mean,
And act as I don't intend.

There are some rules,don't know who made,
Some rules we have to abide,
To live happily in this pretending world,
And to bring people by our side.

Everyone we know has a mask on his face,
To hide the real person behind,
But I'd like to know the hidden person,
And the purity of his serene mind.

For all of us have a beautiful inside,
The one we try to suppress,
But I think the face we have on for the world,
Is nothing but mere distress.

It's strange how people give up themselves,
Their own worth at someone else's cost,
Do we still have a sense of selfness left?
Or is everything just got lost?

I hope we change to make thing's better,

The nightmare of this terror,

Everything is so unsafe,
Where are we supposed to go now?
Be afraid in our own space?

The people who run our nation don't give a damn,
They are just concerned with the money in their hands,
When the nation hurled her desperate cry,
They were away somewhere and didn't even try,
to save our life, to fight the invaders,
to save Mumbai, to make things better.

Let's take action right now,
They killed our bravehearts,our heroes
Let's teach them a lesson
And retort back somehow.

Let's not act like fools
Accepting everything coming our way,
We have a right to get an answer ,
To think, revolt and place our say.

Hi, i am mugdha....15 years old from India.My blog name is perhaps highly self obsessed but i like it nonetheless...because my blog is indeed going to be all about me....my opinions...what i feel of others...what kinda people i like...n some incidents of my life which i would feel like putting up.I always wanted my own blog but i backed out a lot of times....coz i thought probably i won't get time to sustain it...or who wants to read stuff i write? ...or simply coz m not good at writing....but now i think ill enjoy it...so m just trying out my hand at it.Will keep posting :-)
